2Ci helped create, and co-ordinate graphics created by various design outfits, the visuals for the Stop E$$O campaign event. The campaign started after G-Bush Jr was elected (sort of) Prez of the US of A. His campaign contributions from the oil industry had guaranteed the digging up of Alaska in search of oil. People campaigned, wrote letters, waved placards, signed petitions and were resolutely ignored. Oil companies and politicians alike will always ignore the individual ‘little’ person who has no financial influence. So instead the little people ignored them and more importantly their product, effecting the one thing the oil companies and politicians really care about - money! ESSO only have themselves to blame for the boycott, because we only followed the advice from their website about ‘being a good citizen’! (see the fourth image)
By boycotting Exon/Mobile/Esso suddenly the powers above listened, and stopped the planned drilling and digging up of Alaska’s unspoilt wilderness... and invaded Iraq for oil instead. Doh!
2Ci had to advise Greenpeace against the use of distressing pictures of oil covered animals and trashed beaches, as this would be far too depressing for a 'party' event, and instead show imagery of the fragile beauty of this amazing planet and its inhabitants, along with positive messages of how the individual can help make a difference in safe guarding it for future generations.
The directors of 2Ci became honorary lifetime members of Greenpeace.
