The CD-ROM title, International Athletics, won several awards for its aesthetics and innovative communication of content. The user could interact with the titles content via a 3D athletics stadium, with the information split into four sections - Athletes, Spectators, Commentators and the Database.
The Athletes section was like a back stage pass where you could wander the corridors discovering the locker rooms, medical facilities, training and fitness rooms. The user could access information on training, fitness, nutrition, medical care, rules and laws, technique and motivation - from text, image, video and/or audio of gold medal winning athletes like Sally Gunnell and Jonathan Edwards.
The Spectators section was located up in the stadium stands, with the crowds looking down onto the track and field events below. The user could choose a discipline and meet the key athletes - a who's who of the contemporary athletics scene, the record holders and innovators.
The Commentators section was set up in the broadcast studios in the rafters of the stadium. You could see footage and newspaper clippings of the greatest athletic achievements in history via the trophy cabinets, plus conduct interviews and debates in the TV studio.
The Database is a an extensive text driven encyclopaedia. The annals had the results from every discipline at every major athletics competition in history. The database has hypertext links from the 3D environment to any given subject allowing indepth information at a click of the mouse.
