01-03. Addiction Services Annual Report (1997-1998)
The Thames Gateway NHS commissioned Notting Hill to create the annual report for Kent‘s Addiction Services. The A5 publication had to reflect the innovative procedures used at the Service, and also reflect the value for money the NHS has to strive for (i.e. the design should look cheap, but be creative and communicate clearly). The figures provided had to be presented as charts, showing the year on year improvements by the Service, and pin point the new challenges. The front cover was designed to reflect the battle to reach the ‘light at the end of the tunnel’ addicts face during rehabilitation.

04-08. Addiction Services Annual Report (1998-1999)
Thames Gateway NHS Trust were so happy with the previous Addiction Services annual report that they commissioned Notting Hill to produce the following years report. While designing the previous years report, I noticed the various methods used by the Service to fight addiction, including Art Therapy, and requested examples of work produced by Addiction Services clients - as a positive example of the work and progress made by the staff and clients. The front cover kept a similar graphical feel to the previous years cover, but with the inclusion of a painting produced by one of the clients overlayed into the ‘light at the end of the tunnel’ background and cropped close-ups of ‘positive’ self portraits.
