01. Pro Windsurfer Nik Baker Press Pack (1993)
Nik Baker is Britain’s top windsurfer. The World Indoor Champion and number one big wave rider. Nik is managed by SSM Ltd and his profile was pitched as a GQ man. An A4 Press Pack was created to inform current sponsors on Nik’s sporting achievements on the World Tour, current advertising campaigns, brochure photo shoots, biography, information for pitching new sponsors and also to enhance Nik’s media profile for magazine and television appearances. Elle magazine voted Nik as Britain’s most eligible bachelor.

02. Pro Windsurfer Nik Baker & SEGA Press Advert & PoS (1993)
An advert created in five minutes - literally (with two SEGA marketing personnel hovering over one shoulder, a courier waiting to zip off to the printers over the other, a mouse in one hand and the transparency slide in the other and some quick guess work for the positioning of typo and logo’s). The advert ran for over a year, was used as PoS for longer and had a University thesis written about it!

03-04. Pro Windsurfer Scott Fenton Press Pack (1994)
Scott Fenton was pitched as a wildman with a mohawk and a professional sportsman. Scott was managed by SSM Ltd, who increased this popular Kiwi’s media profile, enhancing his sponsorship deals and support for the World Circuit Tour. Scott was influential in bringing the Maori theme to his profile, including translations of his name.

05. Pro Windsurfer Ant Baker A3 Poster & Press Pack (1994)
Ant Baker, younger brother of Nik, was beginning to turn heads on the World Circuit with his results, so it was felt that it was time to enhance his media profile. Using his young age and interests in other freesports, such as skating and snowboard, a cyber-punk image was created for the media.

06-11. National Ice Skating Association Press Pack (1994)
NISA approached SSM to help increase awareness of ice skating in the UK, the availability of public rinks, the schools of excellence that trains future Olympians and a new scheme, Fun Skate, designed to encourage youngsters to give the sport a try. Fun Skate is both a social club and also a way of teaching and training to improve technique.

12. Chris Boardman Brand Logo (1994)
Chris Boardman was almost as famous for his unique and innovative bike designed and built by Lotus, as he was for his cycling achievements. The logo, using Chris Boardman’s initials, reflected the aero-dynamic profile of his extraordinary bicycle.
